April Atienza
Poplar Class Educator

April is excited to be teaching the Poplar class at Trailblazers. She brings over 20 years of experience in education, having worked in both preschool and elementary settings. April holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in writing and environmental science, a Master’s degree in Education, and a teaching credential.

April first discovered Trailblazers when her middle child joined the school and was immediately drawn to its joyful, nature-based approach to learning. She is grateful to now be part of this community as both an educator and a parent.

In the classroom, April creates a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. She is passionate about nurturing curiosity, connection, and confidence, and she looks forward to a year of meaningful growth and discovery with her students in their corner of the forest.

Outside of school, April’s life centers around her three children. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors, swimming, and camping. She also enjoys thrifting, poetry, and a good cup of coffee.
