April Atienza
Poplar Class Educator

April is thrilled to be teaching the Poplar class! She has worked in education for over 20 years, in both preschool and elementary settings. She holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on writing and environmental science, a Master's degree in Education, and a teaching credential.

April first discovered Trailblazers when her middle child joined the school and quickly fell in love with its joyful, nature-based approach to learning. She is grateful to now be part of this special community as both a teacher and a parent.

In the Poplar class, April creates a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels a sense of belonging. She seeks to foster a year filled with curiosity, connection, and growth in their corner of the forest.

Outside the classroom, April's life revolves around her three children. Together, they enjoy exploring nature, swimming, and camping. She also loves thrifting, poetry, and a good cup of coffee.
